Misplaced Loyalties -- Misspent Values

Unfortunately, many of us have misplaced loyalties and misspent values. We look to athletes and movie and television personalities who have accrued much wealth to themselves because they posses an ability that helps us escape the reality of our own lack-luster lives.

We allow our 'leaders' to dole out monies to those who are in our country illegally--to afford them housing and education at the expense of the taxpayers. They have the audacity to sue our institutions of higher learning because their costs are too high! They have not come here to contribute to the greatness of America but to receive the 'free lunch' granted to them by those who control the purse strings of our government, by those who don't mind squandering the people's money.

Worse yet, we send billions of dollars to those who are our sworn enemies, who want nothing less than our total annihilation. These are the people who rage against us in their streets and whose weapons are trained upon our military; they are the same ones who will slay us in our own homes when they have the opportunity, and our elected representatives continue to fund their efforts and allow them to immigrate to our shores.

But when it comes to honoring true heroes, we resent the resources we should willing spend to facilitate their ability to live full lives. When it comes to those who have spent their youth and their strength to secure the peace and the freedom that we cherish, we become stingy.

Shouldn't we require that those who have stolen our country should be required to return to their own homeland and the resources of their own people? Shouldn't we require that those whose intended purpose is to kill and destroy us as a culture and as a people should not be facilitated in their effort by our own complicity?

Where is our collective mind!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can we not turn our efforts and our resources toward the needs of our own people?

Without the Lord, perhaps we cannot. Perhaps we are among those who, "Professing themselves to be wise, they have become fools." Romans 1:22

Lord Jesus, if YOU will send Your Holy Spirit to revive us, we will see clearly. We will not neglect the stranger among us, but we will certainly not turn our back on our own. We will reach out in love to our enemies with Your gospel of truth that can set him free from hatred and blood thirst, but we will not fund his demonic rage.

Help us, O Jesus, to become a godly people again who are safe under the shadow of Your wing and who are guided by Your wisdom and held in the hollow of Your loving hand.
