Earthquake
LORD JESUS, our hearts cry out in the behalf of those devastated Italian villages and their suffering people. We ask YOU to reach YOUR hand of mercy toward them and to deliver them from the horror that has befallen them.
We thank YOU for the news of the rescue of this ten-year-old child whose life has been spared; we thank YOU that her long ordeal of being trapped in the rubble is over and we ask YOU to be with her as she overcomes the anxiety and fear that must haunt her mind from her ordeal.

Like the villages that slept before the devastation, we are somnolent, we are going about our daily lives in our ordinary way; we are seeking "peace where there is no peace," Jeremiah 6:14, for there is no safety apart from YOU.
We ask for YOUR hand of protection to be upon YOUR people, to be their hedge of safety when sudden destruction comes. In YOUR matchless name we pray, O GOD. Amen.
