We are living in perilous times. We see evil of every description all around us and if we allow it to do so, it will lurk within us.
We see rampant sin portrayed by our entertainment industry as the standard by which we should live our lives. The steady diet of perversion and wantonness has indeed altered our societal mores away from the godly standard that was once the foundation on which our nation rested its law and its lifestyle.
We see wicked, murderous men whose diabolical cruelty can only be construed as demonic in its origin.
We see the randomness of hatred that is disseminated by people who live
their lives counter to the life of the GOD of LOVE who came to "seek
and save the lost."
We see, and we are anxious for the future of the children who will grow up without knowing the tranquility of a society that is rooted in the CHRIST we once loved and served.
At these times, our hearts cry out for a place of refuge, and we know our HOLY GOD is still our ROCK and our FORTRESS, our HIDING PLACE from the onslaught of the evil one.
May we come with clean hands and pure hearts before HIM. May we rid ourselves of the besetting sin that dogs our heels and may we rise up against the flagrant evil we see around us that is a stench in the nostrils of the MAJESTY on HIGH.
If we will stand with HIM against the forces of evil, HE will stand with us on that evil day when the shadow of HIS wing will be our only hiding place.
