Dear GOD in Heaven,
We who love YOU and who are thankful for this land called America, come before YOU with broken hearts that are overwhelmed with grief by the violence and corruption among those who have been allowed high positions in this country.
We come before YOUR throne of mercy and grace and ask YOU to intervene in this election and to bring down the corrupt and dishonorable and to raise up godly men and women of exemplary character to take their place.
Hear us as we pray the II Chronicles 7:14 prayer for our nation:
"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land."
We repent of our overt and our covert sins, dear JESUS, and we ask YOU to forgive us and to allow us to effectively employ the power YOU have invested in us (*Romans 8:11) to pull down the strongholds of sin in Washington, D.C.; to effectively employ that power YOU have invested in us to raise up righteous, godly, honorable leaders that YOU may use to heal our land.
It is in YOUR mighty, matchless name we pray, JESUS. Amen.
*Romans 8:11: "The same power that raised JESUS from the dead dwells in you."
