His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.... II Peter 1:3

...add to your faith, virtue, and to virtue knowledge..... II Peter 1:5

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8

Blessed Father, please awaken Americans to our founders' belief that happiness and virtue are one in the same. Return us, O God, to the respect and pursuit of virtue in our private and public lives.
Lord, we hunger for a rebirth of virtue in America. Help us to recover the concept of virtue in our individual lives and the life of our country.

Father, Your word tells us that a virtuous woman is worth far more than jewels. We ask for compellingly true and living examples of virtue in this age of relative truth and values. We appeal to You, Lord, to impress the value of virtue upon parents, educators, pastors, priests, rabbis, coaches, writers, entertainers, and movie makers in a culture that has rejected You and Your desires for our fulfillment through lives of goodness, virtue and faith.

"Statesmen, my dear Sir, may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free Constitution is pure virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our people in a greater measure than they have it now, they may change their rulers and the forms of government, but they will not obtain a lasting liberty." President John Adams

"When we are planning for posterity, we ought to remember that virtue is not hereditary." Thomas Paine

"No people will tamely surrender their liberties, nor can be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and virtue is preserved. On the contrary, when people are universally ignorant and debauched in their manners they will sink under their own weight without the aid of foreign invaders." Samuel Adams
