The Treasure of the Snow

The Treasure of the Snow

"Have you entered the treasure of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, Which I have reserved for the time of distress, For the day of war and battle?…" Job 38:22

The old song that we sing at this season of the year says, "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know," but perhaps we are at a juncture in time when things will never again be as we once knew them.

Perhaps we have arrived at the 'last days' and the future from this point will be impacted more and more frequently with the kinds of terrorist attacks that have so rocked our sensibilities--not only from the horrific onslaught of 9/11 but from the events of the Munich Olympics so long ago.

What we could not grasp then, but which seems to become more evident with each incident of vitriolic hatred unleashed against the West by Islamic extremists, is that there has been an awakening in the Muslim world of the bellicose movement toward the one world caliphate that seemed to lie dormant after the dismantling of the Turkish Empire in the 1920s.

What we cannot grasp now is the fact that so many world leaders seem oblivious to the threat this movement places before us and our way of life. There is not a mere desire on the part of terrorists to have a greater influence upon the world--it is a desire on their part to control the world and every person living in it.

It is a desire for peace, but not in the sense of the word that typically comes to the western mind. When people in the West think of peace they think of harmonious interaction among people of all races and religions and political persuasions. When Islamic terrorists wreak havoc again and again, it is because they are pursuing a peace they believe will come when the entire earth is united under the banner of Islam.

Indeed, the one world caliphate concept is not new. It originated in the Bible and is paralleled in the Qu'ran. The players in both versions are virtually identical but are called by different names.

The 'false prophet' of the Bible is the muslim Jesus. In both accounts, he is a ruthless henchman who unleashes havoc upon anyone who does not accept the government set up by the Antichrist of the Bible who is called the Mahdi in the Qu'ran.

In both accounts, evil rises to great power on the earth, but in the Qu'ranic account, that evil is called good. In both accounts, the streets run red with the blood of martyrs who do not accept the Antichrist / Mahdi system.

If that day is upon us, the day of the white Christmas is certainly in the past.
